Oman Travel Guide

Trip how to visit Oman.

About Me

Having spent nearly half of my life overseas, I’ve explored 18 countries across four continents. Traveling has never been just about ticking destinations off a list—it’s about the experiences, the people, and the cultures I’ve encountered along the way. Every journey adds a new chapter, shaping who I am as a person and as a blogger.

Overview

Oman is one of the most welcoming nations in the Arab world, a place that hasn’t filled its skyline with towering skyscrapers or flashy monuments. Tucked away on the Arabian Peninsula, it’s a land of golden deserts, rugged mountains, white sandy beaches, and historic forts.

With nightlife almost non-existent, both locals and expats embrace the great outdoors, spending weekends exploring nature and gathering around a barbecue in the wild.

Omanis are welcoming and understanding of different cultures, so there’s no need to justify your clothing choices—they respect that visitors may dress differently.

Visa Information for Oman

Good news! If you’re from countries like the UK, USA, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Japan, or Singapore, you may be eligible for a free 14-day tourist visa.

Additionally, residents of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries with eligible professions can obtain a visa on arrival in Oman

Starting in 2025, travelers from visa-exempt countries like the US, UK, Australia, and Canada will need to apply for the ETIAS visa waiver before visiting Europe, similar to the US ESTA system.”

For more details, readers can refer to the full blog post about the ETIAS Visa Waiver for Europe.

However, most other travellers, including those from India, China, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa, will need to apply for a Schengen visa if they plan to stay for up to 90 days.
